Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are the best teams in the German League – Bundesliga. After a stunning start of the campaign, Bayern let go a few points in the last games which enabled Borussia Dortmund to comeback on Bayern’s heels. Bayern also lost their first game at home the past weekend. So we expected a big clash today between the two german supergiants and it laid an egg… Borussia Dortmund 0-0 Bayern Munich
With the draw Bayern maintains a five points cushion and in a very good position to win the title again this season:
Coach Bayern Munich, Guardiola reacts after the game:
“It was a good spectacle for Dortmund, for Bayern, for the crowd and for German football. The result is okay, the match was good. But it’s a pity that we didn’t score at least one goal.
In the first 20 minutes we had problems with our offensive pressing, the second half was good. We had enough chances to win the game. Dortmund also had a few of course, it’s almost impossible to allow no counter-attacks here. The result is okay, the match was good. A huge compliment to Joshua Kimmich! He was up against great forwards in the Champions League, and today against Aubameyang. He has passion, he’s got absolutely everything. I love this boy.
We had enough chances to win the game. but that’s a matter of course, it’s almost impossible to allow no counter-attacks here. We can live with the 0-0 draw, but I would have liked to see our performance rewarded with a 1-0 victory”.
Coach Dortmund, Thomas Tuchel shares his opinions:
“I think we played a very, very good first half, and an outstanding first 30 minutes. We didn’t lose our discipline over 90 minutes, we defended with courageous aggressive pressing. At the end of the day it’s 0-0. I’m happy with the team’s performance. Bayern play at an extremely high level, so you have to defend incredibly carefully. Considering the form, the strength and the attention they showed today it’s very hard to avoid phases when they press intensely.”
