Sweden 4-2 England

Roy Hodgson admitted he had witnessed a spectacular one-man display as Zlatan Ibrahimovic stunned England.

Paris St-Germain striker Ibrahimovic scored all four of Sweden’s goals as they recorded a 4-2 win on the night of Steven Gerrard’s 100th international appearance.

The Swedish captain’s fourth goal was a stunning overhead kick from distance to complete a comeback after England had recovered from going behind to lead through Danny Welbeck and Steven Caulker strikes.

However, Three Lions Manager Hodgson conceded: “There is no doubt Zlatan’s fourth goal was really something extraordinary and that put the tin lid on the game. But it was the second and third goals that cost us victory.

“I thought for 70 minutes or so we were playing very well and deserved to be leading, but I was quite anxious to take a look at a few players and maybe the changes at the end and the second goal gave them more initiative and we ended up losing.

“But there were a lot of positives to take from it. I thought during the 90 minutes or so today we did some very good things.”
