Serie A week 7

Juventus extend winning streak to eight total and stay perfect in Serie A. Napoli came to Turin to win as they did last season and level things up in the Italian Serie A league. With five wins in the first six games Napoli were a serious test for Juventus.

Ronaldo play for the team

Without a shining Cristiano Ronaldo, Mandzukic took over and scored brace giving a conformable advantage for Juve.

Still the Portuguese delivered two assists and this game but we are a bit surprised he has only scored 3 out of the 18 goals by the team. At this moment of the season Juventus are probably the best team we have in Europe.

Coach Allegri on an important win in front of a strong opponent

“We played well, against a good Napoli side, although we made a lot of tactical errors in the first period of the match.

It was very good play from Cristiano Ronaldo on the first goal and, from that moment, we improved.

It did annoy me however that we basically stopped playing when we were 11 against 10. We could have tried to get the ball forward but we didn’t  – plus they could well have equalised through Jose Callejon.

Ronaldo is enjoying himself and doing well. He’s producing lots of assists and tonight he played his best game for us, alongside the 30 minutes he played against Valencia. We need to do better to find him.

As for Paulo, he did well tonight, especially in midfield. He’s excellent at starting and finishing off bits of play. I only took him off because I need him fresh for Tuesday, given that Cristiano won’t be playing.

We still need to improve. We are still making errors of judgement. Let’s not forget that we’ve got a lot of clashes with our title rivals still to play – there are a certain number of games you need to win.”
