Ligue 1 week 19

Paris Saint-Germain are in another planet compare to the rest of the clubs in Ligue 1. They won 17 out of their first 19 games had have not been defeated yet.

They are very likely to finish the season with no defeat at all in the Ligue 1 and should win the championship fairly soon.

Today they inflicted a ridicule defeat to the last team in the standings, Guingamp, 9-0. Both Mbappé and Cavani scored a hat-trick and Neymar added the brace as PSG’s trident was dancing and having fun with a weak opposite side.

PSG players comment on the fun they had today, as it was an exhibition game:

Coach Tuchel comments on the win:
“It’s an excellent performance, particularly in the second half when we had a lot of chances. We scored a lot of goals, the forwards scored several times, we did well with our counter-attacks and had structure in our attacks to be able to accelerate our play.

The injury to Marco [Verratti] is the negative point, it’s serious. In comparison to the previous game against Guingamp, this one was very different, more focussed and with the hunger to score. The Coupe de la Ligue game was bizarre. There wasn’t much in it. This evening, we showed our qualities and didn’t give Guingamp a chance.”

Forward Mbappé:
“We’re happy. We worked well in Qatar on building our understanding with each other, which we didn’t have after coming back from the holidays.

We managed to apply that today. Now, we have to keep going. We know we have quality, but that’s not enough. We have to keep working, do what we do, because for the moment, we are in the thick of things. As a team, we must never take that sort of win lightly.”
