Juventus FC 3-1 AC Milan
Juventus FC have taken a big step towards a 7th consecutive Serie A title and take a four point lead over second place Napoli. AC Milan have had a rough season and seem unable to play a big part in Italy and Europe.
Ranked sixth in the League and on the verge to be eliminated from Europa League [lost first leg 2-0 in Milan to Arsenal], it will certainly be another blank and lost season for the former great club.
For Juve, it is likely another title in Italy and a big game coming up versus the mighty Real Madrid, that easily took care of business against PSG in the last round. The Spaniard will be favorites for the “Old Lady” has shown in the past they can top any other team…
Coach Allegri on the win and what’s next:
“We’ve got back the lead that we had and there’s now one less game left to play. However, we’ve still got a long way to go in the league – we cannot afford to let up, not for a single minute, because everyone’s going strong.
Once we went ahead we dropped off a bit and struggled to keep hold of the ball, but credit also to Milan for that. However, a result like this was important tonight, to begin this final stretch of the league campaign.
It is important to understand moments in games and we did that today, showing our desire to keep going, to go as far as we can and achieve our objectives.
I kept Sami Khedira on the pitch because he always reads important moments in a game. Plus the game had started to open up and we needed someone like him, with good technical ability.
It will be a great evening of football. We need utmost focus, especially because if you lose the ball against them, three passes and they’re in the penalty area.”
