Serie A week 13
Another week and another win for Juventus in Serie A [2-0 vs. Spal]. Cristiano Ronaldo scored its ninth goal of the season and the Italian champions increase their lead to 8 points over Napoli.
Juventus won 12 out of the first 13 matches. They boast both the best offense and defense in the country. In Champions League everything was going just fine until the last 5 minutes of the match against Manchester United [1-2].
It was the first loss of the season for Juventus and they must win today in Champions League to validate their ticket to the round of 16 next spring.
Coach Allegri on the current form and the importance of beating Valencia:
“It was important to win today [against Spal] and it’s never easy to click straight back into gear after the international break but that’s what we managed to do. We played well, kept hold of the ball and were tidy at the back.
We are looking to qualify and then finish in first place. Valencia has grown compared to the first leg, especially on a mental level. Now they have confidence because they have only lost one game out of 10. That means that are strong and organised.
They are a solid team which plays a lot on the counter. It won’t be easy, because even if we’re winning they still have the quality to get back into it, so we will have to be careful and not fall asleep like we did against Man Utd.“
