What are your thoughts on the game?

We didn’t create many chances in the first half. In the second half we were a better side. We created more chances, kept the ball well and hit them on the counter attack which led to the goals. It was just unfortunate we weren’t able to go on and get the third goal to win it. It was unbelievable,  i think when I got the goal it was a good time for us and then Gareth scored an unbelievable goal and after that you start to believe we were going to go on and win the game. We put them under a lot of pressure, pushed them high up the pitch and showed great energy across the team.

What did you think when you saw Gareth’s cross come over in the last minute?

I just couldn’t reach it. Gareth made the run and then put a great ball in that beat the defender. It was unlucky that I just couldn’t reach it because over all I think we deserved at least a point from the game.

Where do you think this leaves you in terms of your ambitions for the title race and a top four finish?

I think we can look up. There are a lot of positives we can take out of the game – especially the second half. I think we looked a really good side. Man City are a very good side. They make things difficult and there won’t be many Clubs that come here and get anything. I thought we were really unlucky today.

You’ve got some big away games coming up against Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool still to come. I guess this shows you can score goals away from home?

Absolutely. There’s still a lot of big games still to come and they’re the sort of games you want to play in. As a footballer you enjoy the pressure of playing in big games. We want to be at the top of the league and if we’re to stay there, we have to play each game as if it’s a cup final.

You must be happy to be amongst the goals today?

Yeah, I’m pleased to score, but it’s about the team. Gareth scored a great goal and as a team I think we worked hard. Like I said earlier, I think we were unlucky today.

Wigan to come next in the Barclays Premier League. Any thoughts ahead of that game?

It’s going to be a tough game. They are going to come to White Hart Lane and look to get something against us. But it’s up to us to combat their threat and get a result. At home especially, we’ve been creating a lot of chances so it’s up to us to win the game and get the three points.
