Premier League week 18

Manchester City are back in winning ways after they took the best of Everton [3-1]. As the Christmas and New Year stretch approaches quickly, the champions are back on the throne and can enjoy Liverpool battling with Manchester United. Liverpool are clearly the most dangerous opponent for Man City.

The Citizens are the favorites to win the League again as the nj online casino experts have concluded before the start of the campaign. But, Liverpool are on equal footing with Man City and won’t back down without a fight. As fans of the game we can’t be more excited as the season continues to unveil.

Liverpool remain the only undefeated team in the League and they look to extend the streak to a 17th Premier League match when they host Manchester United.

Coach Man City, Guardiola reacts on his players’ response:

“The players responded [to the defeat at Chelsea] in a marvelous way. Everton have top players. Today was tricky – a dangerous, dangerous game – especially with less than three days of recovery

They draw at Stamford Bridge and at Liverpool, it came down to the last second. They have experienced players and it was something on our minds. The game wasn’t over until the end.

Of course, we can improve and do better. Spaces were there today but there was a problem with our process. After Hoffenheim, I’m very pleased.

Hopefully, we can improve. Spaces were there but we didn’t find them. Against Chelsea, it was more complicated to find them. The three centre-backs and people in front – incredible top players, who are strong in the air and set-pieces – they are massive and tall.

That’s why we didn’t find the right moments. We were lucky after their goal that Raheem scored. They had two or three chances. We have fantastic players, incredible human beings, and we keep on track with three more points. I am very pleased.”

At the beginning of the year 2019, Manchester City and Liverpool will face in what could be a decisive game for the title. From now to January 3rd, both teams will play each three Premier League matches.

We also learned the next opponents for the Champions League round of 16. Whereas Man City drew a very winnable opponent in Schalke 04, the task for the Reds will be harsh when they will face the German giants Bayern Munich.

Coach Klopp reacts to the Champions League draw:

“It was clear it would be difficult [and] they are obviously a top side. For me it’s nice, going to Germany. But it’s just the draw. So we have now time to prepare the game, a lot of time obviously, and hopefully we have all our players available then. It will be a tough one, an interesting one, and I am looking forward to it.

This is a different Bayern than what I played, we are already here for three years [and] since the Audi Cup [in the summer of 2017]. We all know the stadium, the atmosphere will be great. It’s a really nice trip for all our supporters, it’s a wonderful city, so that’s all good.”
