It seems fairly likely that Manchester United will be missing three more players for the home match against Wigan on Saturday. Van Persie, Kagawa and Evra have all been injured whilst on international duty and face races to be fit for the game.

Although two of these are comfortably United’s best players so far this season. It is certainly convenient that they become injured for this, traditionally the easiest match of the season, against Wigan. It is worrying with Van Persie in particular though, who has a track record of getting bad injuries and we don’t want that to reoccur.

This will be a perfect time for Alexander Büttner to showcase his ability at LB, whilst the injuries to Kagawa and Van Persie open the door to the likes of Anderson, Cleverley, Powell, Welbeck and Hernandez to try to establish a regular place.

It may not be the best thing for the match, but perhaps being forced to change things up will keep the team fresh and interesting. We will have to wait and see.
