Serie A day 5

Cristiano Ronaldo had a difficult first month with his new team Juventus. He was not scoring goals and got sent off during his first Champions League match with his new team. This was the first red card in his Champions League’s career.

With a bit of luck

Ronaldo waited his fourth game to find the net for his new club with a brace and gave the win to Juve. Last game he also scored with 10 minutes left in the game to give Juve an important win to remain perfect.

With Ronaldo gaining his full power and turning it around, Juventus are even more monstrous in Italian Serie A and the favorites to their own succession. Coach Allegri reacts on the win 2-0 at Frosisone:

“We were expecting a game like that. We came into this match having played with ten men for 70 minutes in midweek and it was one of those games that become really tricky if you don’t find an early breakthrough.

I’m happy with the way the lads kept working the ball towards Frosinone’s area quickly and calmly. Eventually the goal came for us.

We struggled in the first half because we were channelling our play down one flank. We did better in the second half when we pushed Emre Can and [Miralem] Pjanic further forward.

[Federico] Bernardeschi was excellent when he came on. With Emre in front of the defence you can afford the luxury of having more skilful midfielders.

Dybala needs to play and he needs to run because when he runs his quality emerges. He did some good things today but he has to keep it up. He’s a technical player who’s good in possession and that’s what you need in games like this. We’ll need him in future too when he’ll be in even better shape.

I expected Napoli to be up near the top, although they have lost a game. We have a chance to put some daylight between us and the pack but first of all let’s make sure we go into the head to head with Napoli [next Saturday] top of the table.”
