Spanish Cup semifinals return leg
FC Barcelona will play another Spanish Cup Final following their victory 3-0 at Real Madrid [4-1 on aggregate]. Real Madrid had the best start of the game with several chances to score first and the visitors were lucky to be at 0-0 at the break.
In the second half, FC Barcelona stroke three times and showed why they are the best team. Luis Suarez scored a brace to lift his team back to the Copa Del Rey final for the sixth time in a row, a record in Europe [only PSG in France can do the same should they reach the French Cup Final this year].
The teams will meet one again in a few days. Another win for FC Barcelona at Real Madrid would bring them closer to another La Liga title. As FC Barcelona coach, Valverde, put in, “a fifth Copa Del Rey title is a great challenge”.
Real Madrid did their best but FC Barcelona deserve to move on the day of their 25th victory at Bernabeu stadium.
Real Madrid coach, Solari, praises his team’s efforts despite the loss:
“We went out with our heads held high but we are not happy about it, we are now focussing our energy on our next clash with Barcelona. They showed just how solid they are. We had all those chances and if we had scored them we might have made it to the final.
We can talk about the game, we were very good and we were organised. The energy was there and we created a lot of chances, but we didn’t score from them. We have to continue as we have been doing and look to create more chances to win. Work, organisation, mobility…we had everything today. And we can add to that what we were lacking, the goals.”
