Ligue 1: Olympique Lyonnais 1-1 Paris Saint-Germain
Coach OL – Hubert Fournier:
“We have to acknowledge that we were up against a great Paris side and so there is satisfaction at getting the draw. We were up against it for large spells because we didn’t have the means to compete technically with them. That meant we had to do what I don’t like us to do, to defend very deep because we were unable to bring the ball out from the back or keep it.”
“Overall, it was a good point for us because Paris dominated the match. We struggled to win back possession and we when we had it, we lost it quickly. But we showed other virtues. We worked hard. And we were also lucky enough to have an excellent goalkeeper that kept us in the match.
Paris’ goal sparked us back into life a little. We gave it more of a go. We endured 20 difficult minutes after the restart. They had chances and Anthony Lopes showed what he’s capable of”.
Coach PSG – Laurent Blanc:
“When we are not satisfied with a result, of course we are frustrated. Our first half was quite good, but we lacked bite in attack. In the second half, it was much better. The Lyon ‘keeper made a number of saves”.
“We tried hard to win, but Lopes was excellent this evening. We could have earned more than a point, but without the penalty, we could have lost as well”.
“We need to continue in this manner, because in terms of our football, it was very encouraging. All the same, we need to be more determined to hurt our opponents.”
