Premier League week 15:

Chelsea got stunned at Wolverhampton 2-1 and dropped one place in the standings. Arsenal and Tottenham caught up with them as the three London teams battle for the top three and four spots.

There are still many games to play but it seems like the title will be played between Man City and Liverpool, the only two undefeated teams in the Premier League with a comfortable lead other their rivals.

At third place we found Tottenham. The North London team took care of business against bottom of the table Southampton.

Chelsea Coach Sarri on the alarming defeat:

“We played very well for 55 minutes. After their first goal, that was an accident because we were in full control of the match, we were suddenly another team, without the right distances and without our football. I don’t know why.

‘I am very worried, not with the result, but for the fact we didn’t react to the first goal of the opponent. We didn’t react at all. I worried about this.’

We have to play and to fight to be in the top four. The result is very difficult for this, because I know in every match you have to gain points.

‘In the last championship in Italy I lost Serie A with 91 points, so I know very well you have to gain points in every match.

‘City are the best team in Europe, maybe the best in the world. They can win the Champions League, but that depends on moments. Last season I think they were the best team in the Champions League, but they played two matches not in the best moment of the season.’

Tottenham 3-1 Southampton.

Coach Pochettino on the win but still things to improve:

“There are two different ways to analyze the game. I’m happy, because it was a tough night to play after the three big games that we played last week. After seven minutes we scored and we were better in the first half. In the second half we started really well but at 3-0 it was tough.

I’m disappointed because in 30 minutes I think we conceded more chances than we did at Arsenal on Sunday – yet we won 3-1 and on Sunday, we lost 4-2. That disappointed me a lot. Hugo was man-of-the-match and that disappointed us in a game you must control more, a little disappointed because the team dropped too much the focus and concentration.

But we keep going. It’s important to keep our focus for the next game, an important game against Leicester. It’s step by step, try to improve, to rest and be fresh again because that will be another tough game.”
