Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will battle for the Bundesliga title on the last matchday of the season. Alike in the Premier League with Man City and Liverpool, the two German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund can still the league title.
Bayern Munich have the edge as the team will host on their last match and only need a point to be crowned the domestic title for the 28th time and their seven straight! Both team are separated by two points before the last game. Borussia Dortmund will have to win at Gladbach and hope for an upset from Munich…
Coach Kovac comments on the job being almost done:
“A compliment to my team, we did a really good job from the 20th minute. We were clearly dominant, we were completely in control and didn’t allow anything. We stifled Leipzig’s strengths and created chances. Unfortunately we didn’t reward ourselves, but we saved that for next week. We’ll play at home, and we’ll seal the title there.
It was a very emotional match today, Leipzig are a very good team and they proved it today. We must be satisfied with the point, it doesn’t worsen our situation. I think we’ll have a good chance of sealing the championship title if the team turn in a similar display against Eintracht Frankfurt next Saturday.
It’ll be a final for the championship title, the people in Munich haven’t had that for years, even decades, so I’m convinced our fans will create a great atmosphere, which will boost our passion and will to win.
For Borussia Dortmund and as the coach simply phrased: “It’s not over until it’s over”. The yellow and black still believe in their chances.
