Bayern Munchen 6-1 Lille LOSC

Coach Jupp Heynckes: “Naturally, I’m thoroughly satisfied with our performance as a team. I think we could all see my team were very motivated and very focused going into the match. Everything went like clockwork for us in the first half. We saw textbook passing and wonderful finishing. On top of that, we’ve finally done better again with set plays.”

Philipp Lahm: “We scored the early goal and followed it up straight away. In those circumstances things go your way. We take every opponent seriously. We want this to carry on. We’re working hard, and we set off at a tremendous pace, so we made it look easy.”

Bastian Schweinsteiger: “We played really well, although it wasn’t easy. We knew we’d have to play well right from the start, and that’s what we did. We can be proud and we’re overjoyed. We’ve done exactly what the coach wanted us to do. Apart from the yellow card, I really enjoyed the evening.”

Rudi Garcia (Lille coach): “The first half was a nightmare. We looked like a bunch of youths against a senior team. We have to put points on the board in our last two group matches and show ourselves in a different light compared to today.”
