Arsenal vs. Manchester United – Premier League
From all indication, Arsenal will not be playing in the Champions league next season. It is unlikely that the Gunners will finish among the top four and the chances of they winning the Europa is very slim considering how poor the Gunners have been away from home in Europe this season so far.
If Arsenal are not playing in the Champions league next season, it will not be surprising if they find it difficult to attract big names and that’s even if they have the money to spend in the summer transfer window. Knowing Kroenke, he is very unlikely to give Emery a big warchest hence Arsenal are likely to sell some of their star players.
Already the likes of Lacazette, Monreal, Chambers (who is currently on loan at Fulham) has been linked with moves away from the club. It is obvious Emery will have to sell in order to buy in the summer. The club could do with the signing of a winger, a replacement for Ramsey (if the Denis Suarez loan deal isn’t made permanent ), a centre back and a left back.
But instead Arsenal are getting linked with the signing of one striker to the other. This time the Gunners have been linked with the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic who has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, Chelsea and Barca. The Serbia international has been one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga so far this season.
Jovic has in 32 games in all competitions this season scored 21 goals and created seven assists which is quite impressive for a player who is just 21-year-old. Although if Lacazette and Aubameyang remain at the club, Arsenal would really not be in need of another striker but if one of Lacazette (both certainly won’t leave) leave the club, signing someone like Jovic will make a lot of sense.
Whether Arsenal have a chance of signing the Serbian if the reported interest from Real Madrid, Barca and Chelsea is anything to go by remains to be seen.
