Premier League week 9

For the first time in over 10 years, Arsenal have won 10 straight matches and are only two points behind the leaders with 21 points.

They came back from behind to beat Leicester 3-1 thanks to an incredible Özil. The Gunners are playing an excellent football with few touches and a deliberate offensive game. They boast the second number of goals scored [22] behind Manchester City [26] in the League.

Reminiscence of the glorious years

Arsenal played their best football under the Wenger years with the likes of Thierry Henry, Bergkamp, Pires and Viera. After a rough start to the season, Aubameyang, Lacazette and Özil look to restore the glory. Arsenal are slowly becoming a title contender but needs to remain calm as coach Emery tempers:

“I think we need to continue with calmness and treat each match as a big possibility to continue our way.

It was very important for us to beat Leicester because they’re not far behind us. Now we’ve created a lot of distance with the teams behind us.

Now in front we are looking at teams like Liverpool, like Manchester City, like Chelsea, but it’s not important to think about the end. We need to think about the next match against Crystal Palace on Sunday. I also think the Europa League is very important on Thursday.

When we were winning, controlling the game and finding chances to score, I think that’s the moment when our supporters pushed us forward and helped us. The atmosphere today was very big.

The first 30 minutes was a difficult period and we needed to be together for our style and progressing in the match. We deserved to win today for everything in the 90 minutes.”
