Equatorial Guinea’s newly-hired coach Henri Michel took control of the country’s national team on Saturday at an official ceremony in the central African country’s capital Malabo.

Cameroon’s Mohammed is expected to meet separately with the Febefoot president and other members of the executive committee in a view of finding a long-lasting solution to the month-long row.

The Frenchman begins his job six weeks after signing a 13-month contract with the co-host of the 2012 African Cup of Nations.

Replacing former coach Paraguayan-born Carlos Lobo Diarte, Michel’s main objective is to lead the Nzalang Nacional through the continental showpiece with a dignifying outcome.

The former Cameroon, Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire coach was handed the keys of two cars and two houses as basic benefits.
