La Liga week 16
FC Barcelona and Messi have on tear lately with a clear 5-0 victory at Levante. Barcelona has the best offense in the La Liga with 46 goals scored in just 16 games.
Their Argentinian superstar, Leo Messi, has been fenomenal all-year long and added a hat-trick in the victory. He now has 43rd hat-trick in his career and is up to 50 goals scored in 2018.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappé and Mo Salah who were ranked better Messi for the Ballon d’Or reward cannot boast such a record. Still Messi was voted only 5th world’s best player of the year.
We don’t compare him to Modric, the Croatian midfielder does not score many goals and isn’t playing the same position. We only look at stats for forwards. In our opinion there is no debate on where Messi should stand and his season has been superb.
After a third of the games played Barcelona lead La Liga by three points over Sevilla Fc and Atletico Madrid. Real Madrid complete the top rankings, five points behind the Catalans.
