Manchester United
Manchester United didn’t have a great season again last season, and really they haven’t trumped success since the departure of Alex Ferguson. However, Manchester United are now under new management. Jose Mourihno is a proven winner, and it’s a safe bet that his return to Man U will send the club to lofty heights. Not many will appreciate his defensive ‘park the bus’ style of play, but there’s no doubt that it will have a great potential to bring the club to Premier League and European success. One thing that Manchester United were lacking was player stand out quality. Although Anthony Martial was starting to perk up towards the end of the season, it ended up with David de Gea often single-handedly saving the club in many of their games.
Nevertheless, after signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Paris St Germain already, and having strong links to Juventus star Paul Pogba the team are looking to shine once again. With the midfield having struggled last season under Louis van Gaal, the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund, and the potential of Paul Pogba could show a very different side to Manchester United, giving them the best chance of winning the league.
Tottenham
Tottenham had a shining season last season, and have some of the best defensive players in the league. Although Harry Kane may not have performed at the Euros for England, as long as his confidence hasn’t taken too much of a knock, there’s a strong chance that he will be hitting the top scorer mark once again. If the side continue to make the same progress this season as they did last season, they have a great chance of winning the league.
Chelsea
Antonio Conte is another new manager to enter the league, and after his impressive Italian sides’ performance in the Euro’s this year, despite being the worst Italian team on paper in a number of years, Conte could boost the Chelsea squad back to success following an abysmal season. Diego Costa is an uncertainty to still be at the club next season, but with his aggressive style of play, there is a chance that he could be scoring well under the new manager. Eden Hazard is tipped to be one to watch, and may even finally get his wish to play through the centre under the new manager. Having scored a number of goals already in pre-season, Hazard looks to be back on top form after a poor performance throughout the previous season.
Chelsea are also set to bid for Romelu Lukaku and bring him back to the squad after his years on loan and at Everton. On top of this, new signings Michy Batshuayi from Marseille and N’Golo Kante from Leicester City are certain to make an impressive impact on the squad.
