Raúl became the Country Manager for LaLiga in the United States in December 2015, just four months after US Club Soccer and LaLiga signed a long-term technical partnership at the Players First launch event. He is based in New York.

Having played more than 20 years as a professional athlete, Raúl currently works in New York, leading its project in the United States. As a Manhattan neighbor, he is committed to the community development through sport and its values of effort and sacrifice.

His prolific professional career began on Oct. 29, 1994, when he played for the first time with the Real Madrid professional team. He was 17 years old. Several days after that, Raúl scored his first goal in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium against Atlético de Madrid. It was the first goal of many in a long and successful career.

With his characteristic number 7, Raúl achieved all the goals a soccer player can have. He won three UEFA Champions League, six LaLiga championships, two Intercontinental Cup, one German Cup, one Qatar League and one NASL Soccer Bowl. He played more than 100 international matches with the Spanish national team, with whom he participated in three World Cups and one Olympic Games. His many personal achievements and awards are highlighted by two Pichichi (top scorer in a LaLiga season) and the record of top scorer in history of the UEFA Champions League, currently only beaten by Cristiano Ronaldo and Lio Messi. He was designated as captain in all the teams he’s played and was never sent off with a red card in any official match.

After leaving Real Madrid, he successfully played for Schalke 04 in Germany, Al Sadd in Qatar and the New York Cosmos in the United States, where he retired in November 2015 after winning the NASL championship game.

Raúl joins an impressive group of LaLiga presenters for the upcoming LaLiga Formation Methodology course, alongside: Gari Fullaondo (LaLiga Technical and Methodology Advisor), Hugo Blanco (LaLiga Sports Project Coordinator) and Zunbeltz Fullaondo (Kimet Sport Methodology Director).
