Arsenal defeated a resigned looking West Ham at Upton park with a resounding 0-3 victory away from home. The game startedbrightly and Arsenal took the lead after some great work down the left flank from Theo Walcott resulting in a fine right footed finish from dutch international Robin van Persie. Walcott then has a chance to add to goal tally for the season when put through on goal, but he fluffed the chance. But Theo would add to his goal tally before the end of the first half when the ball was crossed in and Walcott reacted quickest and smashed the ball into the top of the net from 6 yards.

More of the same in the second half with West Ham showing little resilience. Van Persie added his third and Arsenal were in cruise control. There was no need to up the gears and the game peated out. It looks as if this was the end of the road for hammers boss Avram Grant who has done little to convince his board that he is worth keeping as manager.

Wenger got the tactics spot on today. Not to many drastic changes, but enough to keep the squad fresh. Arsenal are still in the race and its January! That an improvement but can they still be in the title race come the spring? I really think so. I imagine too that the league cup will still be coming to the Emirate despite there 1-0 loss against Ipswich. Watch this space Gunners fans.
