Tottenham boss André Villas-Boas believes the race for the Champions League places will go all the way down to the wire this season.
After a somewhat sluggish start to the campaign, Spurs have greatly improved in recent months and currently sit fourth in the Premier League table as we head into the business end of the year.
The Lilywhites finished in the same position last term, but were made to do without Champions League football due to Chelsea winning the competition, but have taken it on the chin and have excelled in the Europa League, making it through to the last 16.
However, it’s the league that’s been their main focus as they know that playing in Europe’s top club competition will not only aid them in keeping their best players, it will also help the board attract some of the game’s top stars.
This season’s race for the top four has been one of the most hotly contested for years, with punters who bet on football having to choose between the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton.
Villas-Boas knows how important finishing in the top four is to the club both on and off the field and says that his players will give everything in their bid for a Champions League spot.
“It is very tight still,” he told premier league betting news reporters. “Everton and Liverpool are still strong teams challenging, and Liverpool has played most of the big teams, and they have to play us and Chelsea.
“Arsenal are still a threat and finish the season strongly – but our hope is to continue doing our job, our team is committed to this and we get great satisfaction from seeing our players strive towards these results.”
