Major League Soccer team Colorado Rapids has signed a shirt sponsorship deal with financial services company Transamerica.
The two-year agreement is effective for the 2015 and 2016 MLS seasons and was brokered by the Denver-based Impression Sports & Entertainment agency.
Transamerica’s branding will feature on the front of Colorado’s playing shirts for the duration of the deal, beginning with Saturday’s home match against New York City FC.
Additionally, Transamerica will benefit from branding around the Rapids’ Dick’s Sporting Goods Park home.
Dallas-headquartered telecommunications company Ciao Telecom in May agreed a deal through 2018 with the Rapids to become the club’s first front-of-jersey sponsor. However, that deal resulted in a lawsuit with the Rapids suing the firm over missed sponsorship payments.
