Champions League day 2

Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are facing for the second week of the Champions League group stage. With one point won at Olympiacos, the Spurs look to take the group lead with a win against Bayern Munich. The Champions League odds slightly favor Bayern Munich as the German champions have not lost in any of their last nine away games in the competition.

Tottenham have high hopes in the Champions League after reaching the final last yer. The English club has had a difficult start of the Premier League.

Pochettino’s men only rank at the sixth spot and already ten points behind leaders Liverpool. Still, they won their last match with difficulty 2-1 over Southampton in preparation of the showdown against the German giants.

Top European match

The Argentine’s Spurs coach previews the big clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium:

“We have to keep going. We have a few games more before the international break and it’s so important to keep the same level of focus. It will be tough, starting against Bayern Munich.”

We all expect a very tough game. Bayern Munich are a great team, a great club, amazing players, great manager. It will be an exciting game. This is a moment to enjoy the possibility of playing Champions League football against one of the best teams in Europe.”

“I’m so excited because when you are in football as a player or a manager you want to be involved in this type of game and a competition like the Champions League, playing against teams like Bayern Munich.

This is a club that every season prepares to try to win the Champions League, their history says that. For sure, they are one of the contenders.”

For Bayern Munich coach, Kovac, the game will be a top European clash with two teams aiming at the trophy:

“Two top teams face off at a great stadium. The pressure is a bit higher for Tottenham.”It’ll be a big night on the European stage.

We must try to enjoy the match, and if we enjoy it things usually go well. They’ll play at their own stadium, spurred on by their fans. They’ll try to put us under pressure. But their quality is high too.”
