Premier League week 19: Leicester City 0-0 Manchester City

Leicester ends the year 2015 at a surprising second place one point behind the new leader Arsenal. They can legitimately that first they will the required 42 points to stay in the Premier League and second they can fight for an European qualification, Champions League or even the title. City is at aiming distance while Arsenal finishes ahead with 39 points. here is what the coaches had to say after the draw:

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri:

“I’m very pleased but I’m also very pleased with a clean sheet against these great champions. I think we showed a very good performance and after the Liverpool defeat we’ve played so well. We played calm, fast and pressed high when it was possible. When it wasn’t possible we closed very well the space with good shape and everybody played very good football”.

Man City manager Manuel Pellegrini:

“We had more possession, more attempts on goal, more clear options but it was a tough game against a very good team playing away. I always say if you cannot win, don’t lose but I think we did all that we could to try and win the game. We didn’t come to try to draw. We spent the whole game going for the three points.

it’s a positive because we were a very consistent and solid team today. We didn’t allow them to create options for players like Mahrez and Vardy that are in a very good moment.”
