Who needs Cristiano when you have Rooney? Rooney ran rampant around Arsenel en route to their 3-1 thrashing or Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal had some good opportunities early on and couldn’t capitalize, then Nani did his best Ronaldo impression, blazing by Arsenal’s clichy numerous times before opening the game’s scoring on a magnificent solo run.

He set up Rooney later in the match to make it 2-0…then Park sealed it with his own nice run after combining brilliantly in the midfield to send Arsenal back to the home dressing room disgusted and embarrassed.

Even with Wes Brown and Evans anchoring the backline, Man Utd showed great balance and poise all day long and simply wore down Arsenal’s defense with an efficient and varied attack.

Arsenal need to re-group and figure out a way to beat the big boys if they want to be considered an outside shot at the title.

Landon Donovan had an ordinary outing with Everton, but did start and did help his team post a 2-0 win at Wigan.

Negotiations between MLS and it’s players Union have been extended until mid-february as teams have opened their preseason camps.
