Real Madrid win at Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich 1-2 Real Madrid. Coach Zidane and his men came back from behind to overcome a 1-0 deficit and win in a very difficult environment.

It was a great night of European football. A classic between two heavyweights of the Champions League, winning 17 Champions leagues between the two clubs.

Both teams played each other more than 25 times in this competition but never in the Final. Once again their path cross before the last step in the competition.

The results put the champions in the driver seat but the last round against Juventus showed that everything is possible and Real Madrid allow goals at home. Bayern Munich will feed on that to goto Madrid full of confidence they can turn this tie around

Coach Real Madrid – Zidane on the match:

“We can be happy, satisfied with that result. It was tough at the start and we struggled to get the ball. We were better in the second half. Winning here is not easy. We suffered in the first half. We have the motivation to do well, but we struggled. We like playing here and playing well and started badly but finished well. They had their chances but we controlled the game.

The error prior to the goal is down to all of us. We were not set up well and it was a consequence of errors, not just Keylor. In the second half, he had two or three saves and he did well. We suffered without the ball. Ribéry was great. In the second half, we did well down that side. We got a good result.”

“We will have to fight, we are happy, but we know we have to suffer in the return leg, nothing is sorted yet. After what happened with Juve, we now we have to change things. if not, trouble will find us”.

Coach Bayern, Heynckes on the loss:

“We’ll do everything we can in Madrid to cancel out the first leg result. There are two legs to the semi-finals and nothing is decided until the end of the second encounter. We were totally naïve and careless with our chances. It feels like Real had two shots and both ended in the back of the net.

It’s all still up for grabs. We’ll go there confident we can turn it around. You have to be at your best against Real, and we’ll give it everything we’ve got.”
