Ligue 1 week 5: Caen 0-6 Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain has been through difficult times to start of the season after changing the coaching staff and parting ways with renown players such as Ibrahimovic and David Luiz. Cavani is the clear number 1 choice in front of the attack but at times lacked efficiency in front to do the difference and score goals.

On Friday, at Caen in Ligue 1 match, it took him only 45 minutes to score four goals for a commanding 4-0 win. PSG went on a rout to finish with 6 goals and certainly erased some doubts about the missing chances against Arsenal earlier this week in the Champions League.

Unai Emery (Paris Saint-Germain coach)
“It was important to take three points here, for the confidence, for the improvement in our work. A riposte? No, it wasn’t a riposte…I work. I’m happy for the team. We didn’t concede, that’s important. The team showed the attitude we want. There was intensity, consistency and a compact bloc.”

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi (Paris Saint-Germain President)
“That’s what everyone wants to see! I’m also very happy for Edinson Cavani. I have faith in him. As I said after the Arsenal game, he’s a great goalscorer and a great striker. Today, he answered the media. He told everyone he is here. The players are working. I have faith.”
