Day 6 of the Premier League has concluded and the weekend gave fans around the world a lot to cheer on with big games as Chelsea-Arsenal and Manchester City-West Ham.
The clash of the weekend Chelsea 2-0 Arsenal: another London fight between Mourinho and Wenger, two coaches who really hate each other. The betting trends have been different for Chelsea and Arsenal and we had another tight showdown with also much controversy around Diego Costa. Wenger was clear on that topic: “It was a very frustrating afternoon because we looked like we were in control. It’s frustrating to see Diego Costa staying on because it’s not understandable when you look at the whole situation. The fact that he doesn’t get a red card is unbelievable”. On the other Mourinho praises the second straight win and wants to keep the momentum: “I saw some things back in the team, some qualities, but the same way two defeats don’t kill a team, I don’t think two victories bring the team to the top. Let’s go match after match and try to get a result on Wednesday.”
Manchester City signs second straight home loss 2-1. West Ham is doing well away. After winning at Arsenal and Liverpool, the Hammers developed another great performance and stand at the third position in the table after 6 games. WHFC coach Bilic savors the moments: “It is great for the Club and I am so happy for everyone at West Ham, but especially for the players because you cannot win here without playing well”. MCFC Coach Pellegrini laments the bad start of his team: “They won their two away games before tonight against Arsenal and Liverpool so I knew it would not be easy but we conceded two easy goals and that allowed them to be in front. In the last two games we didn’t play with the concentration or intensity we had shown in the first five games (5 wins). We did exactly the same today as against Juventus – they had two chances in the whole game. We must be more concentrated.
Anthony Martial the most expensive ever teenager has now sounder his second and third game with Manchester United in just two games. His performance enabled MUFC to win two consecutive games and score 3 goals in each of them and secure a second place two points behind their rivals City. Coach van Gaal praises his forward: “He is always an attacking point for a lot of players and that I like in him. He is always running in behind and that I like also. But he is an attacking point and he keeps the ball so he is very important for us already. You cannot say he is ahead of schedule. He has the talent to do it but the Premier League has a lot of rhythm and there is a lot of physical influence from the defenders, but he is also a strong guy. Not every player can adapt to the system but he shows that he wants to do that and it is not so easy.”
Next weekend highlight another test for Manchester City at Tottenham Hotspur while Manchester United will host Sunderland which sit at the bottom of the table with no wins in the first 6 games. Finally Arsenal will face the surprisingly team of Leicester which is sitting at the fourth place. Great action to come starting September 26!
