Ligue 1: Olympique de Marseille 2-3 Paris Saint-Germain

Coaches react after a very entertaining Ligue 1 Classique. Marseille had twice the lead, both goals scored by Gignac as PSG came from behind in the second half and notched two consecutive goals within  minutes to take the lead and win the game.

Here are the quotes from PSG side:

Laurent Blanc (Paris Saint-Germain coach):
“It’s always important to win away from home, especially with seven games left in the season against a direct rival. Plus, it was Marseille and we all know what that means. We are very happy to have won, to have controlled the game, especially in the second half, and to have shown our technical superiority. It allowed us to get back in the game and we could have even have had more goals. It was a very open match, a great game to watch. The only negative point of the evening was the injuries to two of our players, because we are entering a period with a lot of matches…”

Javier Pastore (Paris Saint-Germain forward):
“It was a great match tonight, and both teams played very well, very entertaining football. The most important thing was to have earned the three points, crucial for the end of the season. Now we have two very important matches in the Cup competitions. The team is in good form and I hope it continues like this.”

Blaise Matuidi (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder):
“It wasn’t easy to win here. Tonight we lost two players through injury and that a shame, a real negative for this evening. We are very happy to have beaten an excellent Marseille side. It was very important to win here and reclaim first place on the ladder, and we know the championship is going to be very tough, right to the very end. We have to fight and we’ll do everything we can to win as many trophies as possible.”
