Premier League matchday 25
Chelsea had to react on the pitch following the humiliating defeat at Bournemouth [4-0] and they did without question. They routed Huddersfield and won 5-0. Both Hazard and the new signing Higuain scored a brace.
The Argentinian coming on a loan from AC Milan scored his first goals with his new team as he gets acclimated with the Premier League.
With the victory Chelsea reach 50 points in 25 games and put pressure on its rivals Arsenal and Manchester United for the fourth place. Everything remains as the big 6 battles for Champions League spots.
Coach Sarri comments on the match:
“I think we started very well in the first 25-30 minutes. I saw my football, we moved the ball very fast, we had good movements without the ball and we were very dangerous. I’m really very happy, we played well for 90 minutes and defended well for 90 minutes. We played a good match but we need consistency now.
At the moment we have to be happy with our season because in February we are still involved in four different competitions. We know we have to fight to stay in the top four.
Then we have to try to win something. It will be very difficult because in the Carabao Cup we had to play Liverpool and Tottenham, and now Man City, it’s like the Champions League. So here in England everything is very difficult. The championship is very competitive and we know now we need consistency in our performances.
Today they were very motivated but we lost 4-0 in the last match so they had to react. Now we have to understand the level of motivation must be the same in every match.”
