Bundesliga week 5: Hamburg 0-1 Bayern Munich

Similar to Manchester City in the Premier League, the perfect run with 5 wins out of 5 games in Bundesliga continues for the Bavarians. A late goal from Kimmich at the 88th minute-mark gave the 3 points to secure Bundesliga’s first place before taking on the mighty Atletico Madrid at estadio Calderon for the second day of the Champions League this coming Wednesday.

Carlo Ancelotti comments:

“It was a difficult game, especially in the first half. Hamburg played with great intensity. The pass from Thiago at the end was fantastic – real quality.”

Goalscorer Joshua Kimmich:

“We were not good in the first half. We had no ideas going forward and didn’t create much. In the second half we had three or four great chances and luckily got the goal in the end.”

Mats Hummels:

Hamburg are really tough to play against. They get stuck in and fight. We were not always accurate and a bit slow. It was a hard one today, and we only got through thanks to a great moment from Thiago and Franck Ribery.”
