Premier League week 25
Manchester United continue to pile wins under coach Solskjaer. At Fulham the Red Devils won [3-0] for the 10th time in the 11 last games and remain undefeated.
The team will battle until the end in the Champions League race and are red hot before facing the French champions PSG.
Coach Solskjaer comments on another win today:
In the first 10 minutes we were poor, we did not play the way we should have done. Yes, of course the conditions were difficult, with the wind, but we made it more difficult by playing into their hands with the press and we gave them some counter attacks. After 2-0 I felt in control and in the second half I thought we played really, really well compared to the Leicester game last week. I thought Ander and Nemanja controlled the midfield, we let Paul float around and it was a fantastic performance in the second half.
On Pogba:
“He [Paul] is doing well, he is enjoying himself, he is playing well. His energy is high so that was one of the questions I asked myself – should I play him or should I not, because there is a big game coming up on Tuesday? But I think the intention shows when you play Paul, and everyone knew that we needed to take this game seriously.
I’m not concerned about anyone else, the other teams, but yes I could have imagined taking as many points as we have. To go on that pitch and wear that shirt, with the quality they have got, the players must be confident we can win a football game.
“At the moment I am just concentrating on getting us up the table. Now we are fourth and let’s hope we can stay there for a long time. Not for too long as we want to get higher up of course but now we have taken that step into the top four.
The next league game is Liverpool, which is fantastic to look forward to and of course we have a couple of nice games between that [Paris saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, Chelsea in the Emirates FA Cup]. We have to do everything ourselves, we can’t rely on anyone’s help, so we will just carry on the way we do.”
