Premier League: Manchester City 4-0 Bournemouth

Manchester City improve the record for number of consecutive wins in the Premier League to 17 in a row and they extend the lead to a staggering 14 points. In 19 games the Citizens have won 18 times and tied once while scoring 60 goals. If they continue the season will be one for the ages and will hardly be matched.

Nothing and no one resists to the Man City‘s armada. Bournemouth paid the price today and go home with 4 goals, a walk in the park for Manchester City. This is how incredible their season has been so far.

Coach Pep Guardilla is amazed by the quality his team produces:

“Always, you have doubts after a lot of games in a row and if you are mentally ready to do it again and again, That has impressed me most about the guys – that they were ready.

It was similar to the Southampton and Huddersfield games, and also West Ham in that Bournemouth defended with 5-4-1 with their striker Callum Wilson with Fernandinho. We had hardly any space – there was no space between the lines.

We made a good first goal and the second helped us a lot. We changed the system to 4-4-2 and found tempo and space. We scored four beautiful goals. I am so happy. Merry Christmas to everybody! Now, we are thinking about Newcastle.”

Today was also a milestone for Sergio Aguero and he scored his 100th and 101st under Manchester City’s uniform:

“I am very happy to have reached 101 goals. I hope to keep scoring in that way. This side are always trying to find the striker. I only have to score the goal! It was a great win to keep up the pace. There is more to come. Come on, City!”
