FC Barcelona 3-1 Atletico Madrid

FC Barcelona ruled out a serious Liga rival with the victory. Atletico started the game well and opened up the mark early. However they got two red cards and finished the game down to 9 men that made the task easier for Suarez, Messi and Neymar.

Coach Luis Enrique shares his opinion on what to come now:

“I leave with the positive aspects from the game, although there are always things to improve upon. The game was strange at the start and we found it difficult to get into it. And then we were not at our best when the result was still up in the air. Despite having two extra men we were unable to close the game out and we found it difficult to maintain possession.

“In the second half the objective was to close out the game as quickly as we could. It is true that it was important game but there is still a long way in the title race to go, each team presents their own difficulties.”

“We’re in good shape in all competitions, but there’s a long way to go. We’re happy to take the three points, which is what we needed against a team we’re fighting with for the La Liga title. We didn’t have the same sensation today that we usually have, but we were able to come away with the win, which was what was important. There’s a lot of league left.”
