Ligue 1 scores:
Olympique Lyonnais 2-0 Metz
Saint-Etienne 0-1 Paris Saint-Germain
Nice 2-1 Marseille
Lille 0-1 Monaco
Coach Lyon Hubert Fournier:
“We were up against a very tough and organised side. We needed to show patience to breakdown this Metz side. Paradoxically, the sending off didn’t make things any easier because Metz fought even harder and deeper. I really liked my team’s discipline. Alex clearly has a muscle strain.
He may well miss next week’s game against Monaco. That’s the one negative from this afternoon. It must have been a special game for Maxwel Cornet. We saw his potential and I especially liked his attitude with and without the ball”.
Coach PSG Laurent Blanc:
“It was a very good match and we played very good football in the first half. It was a bit tougher after the break, but we still managed to open the scoring and could have even scored more. We played very well which enabled us to pick up the three points. We were the side that tried to play football, and we’re very happy this evening with the result.
We are still competing in four competitions and we’ll see at the end if it is a good season for us. The scenario of the match was very good, Paris were always in control of the game. We came here with intentions to play football and the lads can be very happy with their performance tonight.”
