Ligue 1 week 6
Paris Saint-Germain have grabbed two late wins [1-0] thanks to Neymar. The Brazilian international delivered his team late in the game for the victory. Both times PSG was heading towards a scoreless draw but Neymar’s moment of brilliance made the difference.
Neymar has given 6 points to his team with a pair of late goals. PSG lead the league with 5 wins in the first 6 games. The last victory was very important against their supposed-to-be toughest rivals this year in Lyon.
Coach Tuchel comments on the late win and goal from Neymar:
“I’m very happy with our performance. We controlled the game by playing in their half of the pitch and by having a lot of possession in the opposition penalty area. It was difficult to create chances as Lyon played very deep. We also had to be careful and keep control of their counter-attacks.
This win is deserved, after a good performance and with a clean sheet. It’s perfect, the team deserved it. The goal? Neymar is there for that, to make the breakthrough when opponents play very deep. We always try to play as a team, but sometimes you need an individual exploit.”
Neymar comments on his goal:
“It was a tough match. Lyon are a good team, who defended well and who are dangerous on the counter-attack. We played well, it was a good all-round performance. My goal? It always boosts your confidence when you score. I’m very happy to start the season with two important goals.”
