2019 MLS regular season
We are half-way through the MLS season and there is only one team that clearly stands out, the Los Angeles Football Club. The Angelinos in their second season have started the season superbly and Vela is a big reason why the team is rolling and so good right now.
The Mexican international has scored 19 goals in 20 games played while his team enjoy a league’s best 14 wins. The superlatives continue to show the dominance from LAFC. The team has the least losses in the league [2], the most goals scored and the least amount of goals allowed.
Favorites to win it all
At this point of the season, the LAFC are the clear favorites to win it all. The extended their lead for the Supporters’ Shield to 10 points over the Philadelphia Union (two games in hand) and 11 points over the Seattle Sounders (both teams at 20 games).
In their second season, LAFC is ready to make its name known in the city and iin the league where the most famous of all have been city rivals LA Galaxy with their 5 titles, along side D.C. United.
Coach Bradley on the success of his team so far:
“From the beginning, when the club was announced, there were people inside the organization who did an amazing job of connecting into the community and creating momentum and creating a positive kind of energy about what the stadium was going to be and what kind of football was going to be in there.
So the credit goes to the people who got the ball rolling, and we’ve been able to build a team that loves playing the way we do, that is excited to step on the field and try to create chances, try to play forward, and play the kind of football that those incredible supporters can appreciate.
So the connection that we have with the city and the supporters is special, and we are proud of what we try to do every time we step on the field.”
