MLS Playoffs knockout round

Los Angeles FC and D.C. United had big hopes for a deep MLS playoffs run. Their dreams were crushed by the underdogs, visiting team in wild playoffs games.

Real Salt Lake came back from behind when down 2-1 to grab a decisive win 3-2 in Los Angeles including an amazing karate goal! Columbus Crew and D.C United were even two all until the penalty shootouts.

D.C United forward Wayne Rooney comments on the difficult end:

“It’s disappointing. But for us as a team, I think we can be proud of what we achieved over the last few months. I think today’s game, the crowd, the atmosphere, the way it was, it was fantastic. It showed the team has come a long way and we can be proud of our performances, and obviously try to build on this now for next season.”

Coach Olsen added:

“I don’t know if it was anything really they did. We were good at times. We weren’t great. I think we complicated the game in the final third. I think we went for home runs when we could continue securing the ball and making them work.”
