MLS Regular season game 33

Real Salt Lake control their destiny with a clear four points and two more games to play in the MLS regular season. With a win in Portland on Sunday, the team from Utah will advance to the MLS Playoffs and eliminate the LA Galaxy.

Real Salt Lake beat New England Revolution 4-1that means LA Galaxy need to win at Minnesota on Sunday and hope for a good result from Portland before taking on Houston Dynamo for the last game of the regular season.

As both coach Kinnear and forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic know, the LA Galaxy “need to win games in order to get to the playoffs” and will it be enough?

RSL Coach Petke on the win against New England:

“Anytime you score early like that on a great transition goal from one end to another it sets a tone. When we came in at halftime, what was written on the board was zero-zero, because it didn’t matter what happened.

Our energy and our work from the beginning was excellent. We put pressure on the New England players and in the end, we created so much opportunities and we scored goals. If you’re leading you have self-confidence and we used it, so it was excellent.

Overall these guys stepped up for us and now it’s all about Sunday.”
