The LA Galaxy will once again join MLS W.O.R.K.S., Major League Soccer’s community outreach initiative, to raise breast cancer awareness as part of Soccer Kicks Cancer, an initiative focused on raising awareness and funds for cancer research and treatment and providing strength and hope in the fight against cancer affecting men, women and children. The Galaxy will do their part to raise awareness and funds for the cause at each of their home games during the month of October, starting with Saturday night’s game against Real Salt Lake, which is presented by Amgen Breakaway from Cancer, and then continuing with the regular season finale against Seattle Sounders FC at The Home Depot Center on Sunday, October 28.

Both of those games will be played with a commemorative pink adidas PRIME match ball. Additionally, for the third consecutive year, Galaxy players and coaches, as well as referees and the players and coaches of other teams will wear a special pink MLS W.O.R.K.S. ribbon patch on their jerseys, pink adidas sweat bands, pink shoelaces and several goalkeepers will use pink gloves to further support the cause while both benches will receive pink sideline towels from Gatorade.

The Galaxy have also once again partnered with the Zeta Tau Alpha (ZTA) Fraternity to distribute 10,000 Think Pink® awareness ribbons to fans at each of the club’s final two regular season home games.

Lastly, as part of their effort to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer, the LA Galaxy Foundation will auction off a number of autographed pink items while also selling a limited number of special edition pink, breast cancer awareness items such as scarves, towels and much more.
