Major League Soccer week 33

September 1st, The LA Galaxy were beaten 6-1 by the Real Salt Lake and their season was turning to be a nightmare. Worst defense in the League and the MLS playoffs were a far-fetched dream.

Surge under coach Kinnear

Only seven weeks after coach Kinnear took over the LA Galaxy went on to grab 10 points in their last matches and with one more win on next weekend, they will advance to the MLS Playoffs in lieu of Real Salt Lake.

RSL does not believe in their chances anymore as coach Petke declared: “There’s a one in a million chance now that we get to the playoffs. It’s not a good place to be. We’re going to be the biggest Houston Dynamo fans there’s ever been. We’ll be rooting them on and hopefully they can help us out.”

LA Galaxy will need to beat Houston Dynamo. Forward Ibrahimovic is very confident:

“I think our playoffs started five games ago because we needed to win to make it still possible to make the playoffs. If we lost any of them we were out. To play under pressure like that is not easy.

The guys should have all the credit for that because we are playing under high pressure. We are handling it well. The guys are handling it very well, we are controlling it very well and we play with confidence.

Dom [Kinnear] he gives us a lot of confidence. He keeps the basics simple. We just go out and try to do what we are able to do and we are doing it well at the moment.”

Coach Kinnear added:

“We accomplished a win on the road which puts us in a spot next week where we can maybe get into the playoffs. I think deep down inside that they’re happy.

It’s been a good little run we’ve been on. I do think they do have an eye on the following week, but we’re getting carried away that’s for sure.”
