UEFA Champions League round of 16

Manchester United won the last two games [3-1 at Crystal Palace and 3-2 vs. Southampton] thanks to their Belgian international Romel Lukaku. The Red Devils sit now at fourth place in the Premier League. Next come Champions League betting and a clash in Paris against Paris SG.

Lukaku is a good player but he is no Mbappé. Since Neymar and Cavani went down due to injuries, the 20 years-old stud has been on tear piling up goals and leading the charge in Europe with 25 goals (tied with Messi).

He scored two consecutive doubles and more importantly has been the difference maker for PSG whiler missing their firepower at the front [last game victory 2-1 at Caen].

If Manchester United have any slim chance to eliminate Paris Saint-Germain, they will have to stop Kylian Mbappé. Judging from the first leg, the task ahead is a great challenge.

Man United coach, Solskjaer, on the win and the trip to Paris:

“I have got to enjoy every single second when I am in this position and I am. Then again, you just want the boys to win so much, to get what they deserved because they deserved it for the energy and the belief.

The team, the club, everyone, supporters [have spirit]. We go into every game with confidence and belief and we will do the same against PSG on Wednesday.

We know it is an uphill task, but we can do it. It has happened before, this club has had so many great comebacks, but we have got eight straight wins [on the road], confidence is high and, if we are still in the game with 20 minutes to go, who knows?”

PSG coach, Tuchel, on his team and Mbappé:

“We have had to go out and seek the wins in recent games. It took us a lot of chances to score, and that’s why the game was a little tougher than expected and was tight right to the end. I’m very happy my players managed to win the game.

It was important to win before a game like the one that’s coming up against Manchester. The team was able to stay calm, the players showed a great attitude on the pitch, despite Caen scoring first. But we stayed strong mentally and we deserved the win.”
