Chelsea may be disappointed at today’s loss, but did claim an important away goal in Milan.

You had better have not been late arriving to the match tonight as Inter only needed three minutes to score the first goal. Diego Milito, who was acquired from Genoa last summer, netted the early goal for Inter. It was truly a dream start for Inter!! In its best chance of the first half, Chelsea’s Drogba put a dangerous free kick on target in the 25th minute, only to see his try strike the crossbar from 25 yards. An ecstatic Inter entered half time with a one goal lead.

Early in the second half, the tides seem to turn as Chelsea’s Kalou scored the equalizer at the 51′, but it wasn’t long until Cambiasso gave the lead back to Inter at the 55′.  Chelsea had many chances to equalize the match but it was clear that Inter’s defense was there to play.

Adding insult to injury, the London team also lost goalkeeper P. Cech to injury and it remains uncertain if he will be healthy to play in the second leg.

Inter and Chelsea fans can’t wait… more drama in three weeks!
