Champions League day 2

Manchester City have found their way back into the Champions League with a late strike from David Silva.

Undefeated in the Premier League and leading the charge as champions, Man City have had difficulties to respond the Europe’s best clubs competition.

Wake up call

The Citizens lost their only game this season at home 2-1 versus Lyon and went down in Germany after only one minute. It served as a wake-up cal since Agüero leveled the two teams only 5 minutes later.

But City had to suffer until late in the game when David Silva delivered the team with a strike inside the penalty area.

Coach Guardiola reacts on the difficult win:

“After losing the first game it was so important we don’t lose today. The game was tight and in the end (we won). To win in Germany is always so complicated. It’s a good three points, we fought against a lot of things, and that is why satisfying for the team.

They (Hoffenheim) are so well organised defensively, with the ball they are so strong. It was not easy to find it, but at end we found the right moment to win the game.

We need to live this experience to get better. You cannot make the next steps if you don’t suffer, you don’t live this experience. So this will be good for the future.”
