Rush Soccer is very excited to announce that Gerard Houllier has agreed to join the Rush Board of Directors.
“I am happy to join the Board of Rush Soccer and their 35,000 members. I believe in the future of US Soccer and I am very pleased to have an opportunity to contribute to its growth and future success,” commented Gerard from France.
Mr. Houllier (photo) is perhaps the most influential man in French Football at the moment as he is currently serving as the Technical Director for the French National Team. Houllier has also held coaching jobs at RC Lens, Paris St-Germain, Olympique Lyonnais and Liverpool during his distinguished career.
A large list of managerial accomplishments is highlighted by being named as the UEFA Coach of the Year in 2001 after guiding Liverpool to victories in the League Cup, the FA Cup and the UEFA Cup. Houllier has also been presented with the Legion d’honneur (the highest decoration in France) for his contributions to French Football.
“Gerard is recognized through out the world. He was the catalyst for the French Football Federation’s great successes over the past couple decades,” commented Rush Soccer President and C.E.O Tim Schulz. “He is a long term visionary and will compliment our already high profile Board of Directors.”
Rush Soccer Technical Director Andrew Kummer echoed these feelings stating, “It is an honor to have an individual of this stature involved with Rush Soccer. Not only is Gerard one of the most recognized coaches in the world, but he brings a wealth of knowledge on the management side of things that will be a major benefit to our organization.”
The Rush Board of Directors meets quarterly by phone and is comprised of a diverse group of individuals who serve in an advisory capacity to compliment the clubs mission…to be one of the most recognized soccer brands in the world.
