France win second FIFA World Cup after 1998.

Mbappe and Griezmann both scored 4 goals during the tournament as France became champions of the world for the second time in history.

France became the first nation since Brazil 1970 to score 4 goals in a World Cup Final. The road to Moscow was not easy for France with two big wins against Argentina 4-3 and Belgium 1-0, which arguably had the best team in the tournament.

20 years after the team led by Zinedine Zidane [beat Brazil 3-0 in 1998 Final], the French were able to win a second World Cup after losing the Final n 2006 to Italy in the penalty shootouts. The French were one of the youngest teams of the tournament and the teenager the rising star of soccer.

He has been compared to Pele since he has done as good as the king of soccer did in the past in 1958, 60 years earlier.  Indeed Kylian Mbappe is the first teenager to score in a World Cu Final since Pele in 1958.

Coach Deschamps reacts on the amazing feeling:

This is amazing, it’s the pinnacle: France are on top of the world! It’s really fantastic. Kudos to the team and my staff. We’ve spent 55 days working hard together.

I’m thrilled to see my players so happy. They did it and I’m proud of them.”

Griezmann added:

“After a match like that it doesn’t really sink in. Believe me though: I’ll be the first to buy the jersey with the two stars.”

We’re so happy. We feel so proud, and we just want one thing: to go and celebrate this with the people of France.”
