Schalke star Julain Draxler has refused to rule out the possibility of playing for fellow German side Bayern Munich in the future.

The Germany international is contracted to Schalke until 2018 after signing a new deal last year. However, he has been linked with a move away from the club, with Arsenal making a bid in the recent January transfer window.

Rumours suggest he could move for €45.5million in the summer, with the 20-year-old catching the attention of many scouts across Europe.

Club chairman Clemens Tonnies is confident he can keep Draxler for another year, and last month he insisted that the youngster would not join the European and Bundesliga champions.

However, Draxler has told the bet365 website that he can’t rule out the switch, considering goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made the same move to the Allianz Arena three years ago. He said: “I’d prefer not to comment on all those rumours.

“Look at what happened with Manuel Neuer. He was 100 per cent convinced that he would never join FC Bayern but, after having played as a pro for five years, time made him change his opinion.

“I also can’t say what I will think in five or six or maybe even 10 years. And when you rule something out entirely and you end up playing where most people don’t want you to be, the outcry is huge.”

Draxler has been out injured in recent weeks, but he is expected to feature against Real Madrid when they meet in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, a game likely to be a huge draw for people who gamble with bet365.
