Champions League week 4
Dortmund and Inter are set to meet in Germany for a very exciting Champions League match. Both teams are placed to battle for the group’s second place behind FC Barcelona as the Champions League betting odds favor the host team to win this game. It will be the match to follow on Tuesday.
The winner of the confrontation at the Signal Iduna Park will take a serious option for the qualification. Two weeks ago Inter beat Dortmund at home 2-0 and got their first win in the competition. This time around the second in the Bundesliga will aim at payback to secure a second win in the group. BVB prepared the game perfectly with a large home win 3-0 versus Wolfsburg
Dortmund coach, Favre, on the big game coming up:
I’m personally very satisfied with the 3-0 scoreline, especially as Wolfsburg had a few chances of their own in the second half. It was a tough match.
The first half was difficult for us. In the second half, we played a lot better and, above all, were much quicker between the lines, with fewer touches and the right movement. We had a lot of goalscoring opportunities, some of which we missed.
when we play three times a week. Not many players are able to give 100 percent in three successive matches. It’s good we can rotate.
It has worked very well to date, and we’ll continue to do so. Now we still have two matches before the break. Then after that there are eight games until Christmas.
Inter is prepared
For Inter, the club sits at the second place in Serie A just a point behind Juventus as both teams will battle for the title probably. Indeed, third place AS Roma is 6 points behind. Coach Conté comments on the last win at Bologna 2-1. The club has won their sixth away game in Serie A.
We conceded a goal that could have destroyed us but these lads demonstrated fantastic inner strength, and this is great news for us. And they did this in a difficult match against a team like Bologna. Winning and deserving to do so is a very important sign.”
He knows the challenge Dortmund presents:
“We concentrate on the Dortmund match, because we all know the importance of this fixture. I like challenges, I like making teams win again after a few difficult years.
My career speaks for itself and I hope to do the same with Inter. We’re working hard and the thing that is making me happy is working with a group of serious and willing lads. Today, those who came on also did really well, they all have a drive that allows them to never give up in adversity and this is the most important aspect.”
